Ein Browser ist wahrscheinlich die am meisten genutzte Software heutzutage, und viel Arbeit damit wiederholt sich täglich.

iMacros befreit den Benutzer davon, jeden Tag die selben Webseiten zu besuchen, immer wieder Passwörter einzugeben, Formulare auszufüllen oder Webseiten testen zu müssen. Mit iMacros kann eine Aufgabe einmal aufgezeichnet werden und wird auf Knopfdruck immer wieder automatisch ausgeführt.

Die Power Surfer Edition von iMacros ist ein Plug-In für Internet Explorer. Es kann - auch über mehrere Seiten hinweg - Formulare ausfüllen Seiten ausdrucken, Daten extrahieren oder den Inhalt von Webseiten auf Festplatte speichern. Dabei können auch verschlüsselte Verbindungen, wie zum Beispiel im Online-Banking üblich, automatisiert werden.

Die PRO Edition besteht zusätzlich aus einem eigenständigen Spezialbrowser, der ein Kommandozeilen- Interface zur Verwendung mit Batchdateien enthält. Diese Version kann auch genaue Laufzeitmessungen von Webtransaktionen durchführen. Als einzige Software auf dem Markt kann die iMacros PRO Edition auch Webseiten mit FLASH Applets automatisieren.

Die Scripting Edition von iMacros erlaubt allerhöchste Automatisierung und die Integration in bestehende Programme. Sie enthält Funktionen die bislang Testpaketen für viele tausend Euro vorbehalten war und ist damit eine günstige Alternative zu den bekannten Web Test Programmen. Die Scripting Edition kann von jeder Skript- oder Programmiersprache aus ferngesteuert werden. Der Benutzer muss daher keine neue proprietäre Programmiersprache auf teuren Kursen lernen sondern kann seine bevorzugte Entwicklungsumgebung einsetzen. Die Software enthält Beispiele für den Einsatz mit dem Windows Scripting Host (WSH), Excel VBA, Visual Basic, Perl, Phyton, Java und FoxPro. Ebenso enthalten ist ein kostenfreier iMacros Player, der ohne Lizenzzahlungen an Dritte weitergeben werden kann.
