Disk Password Protection 4.8 consente agli utenti di scegliere il tipo di protezione desiderato.
Il primo è la Protezione dell'avvio. Questo tipo di protezione abilitato, sarà necessario immettere la password corretta per avviare il computer. Un altro tipo di protezione consentito dal programma è la Protezione delle partizioni. Gli utenti potranno scegliere e proteggere una o più partizioni contenenti informazioni confidenziali.
Questo tipo di protezione abilitato, la partizione non sarà visibile al sistema operativo e lo spazio sul disco da essa occupato apparirà come spazio libero. L'opzione di Protezione a basso livello consente di bloccare tutti i tentativi di leggere/scrivere al/dal disco protetto. L'unità apparirà come nuova e non formattata quindi non disponibile per alcun tipo di operazione. Questo tipo di protezione funziona soltanto con i dischi ATA compatibili e deve essere attivato in MS-DOS.
