Времена Айвенго и Квентина Дорварда уже давно миновали. Вместо Гроба Господня, Авалона и Грааля рыцари космических пространств заняты поисками только одного - золота. Если вам не чужд авантюризм, если вы не прочь уничтожить на своем пути пару-тройку врагов, чтобы снискать успех и богатство - добро пожаловать в мир Crusaders of Space: Open Range. Эта игра является продолжением первой части игры Crusaders of Space.

Вы - один из космических рыцарей, которые бороздят просторы вселенной в поисках денег и славы. Неважно, есть ли у вас фамильный герб и оруженосец - главное, что у вас есть ваш боевой корабль, на котором вы сможете разведать глубины космоса и в бою добыть себе воинскую славу и богатство. А если есть деньги - то и Дама сердца ответит благосклонностью.

Итак, в двухмерном ограниченном пространстве вам лицом к лицу предстоит столкнуться с целыми флотилиями враждебно настроенных к вам кораблей. Но вам от них появлений дружелюбия и не надо. Чем дальше вы будете устремляться в глубины космоса, тем более странные и опасные чудовища и инопланетные создания вам будут встречаться. Кто-то из них будет доставлять вам неудобства своей стрельбой, а кто-то будет опасно разлетаться осколками после того, как вы уничтожите его метким выстрелом.

Не надо гнушаться тех трофеев, которые вам достаются после уничтожения вражеских кораблей. С помощью них вы сможете значительно увеличить мощь вашего корабля, пополнить запас ракет и улучшить броню. Кстати, у вас будет иметься бортовой компьютер, который будет выдавать весьма полезную информацию о противниках, их боевой мощи, опасных свойствах и повадках.

Игра имеет три уровня сложности, два эпизода по несколько миссий. Кроме того, вы можете выбрать управление игрой: с помощью клавиатуры, джойстика или мыши.
