Abgesehen von rechtsgültigen Urkunden und Verträgen schickt man Dokumente heute im Zeitalter des Internets erheblich bequemer, kostengünstiger und auch technisch weniger störungsanfällig per eMail als per Fax.

Auch was Abbildungsqualität und Weiterverwendbarkeit angeht, haben digitale Dokumente im Vergleich zum analogen Fax auf dem Papier viele Vorteile - denken Sie nur an Dokumente mit eingebetteten vielfarbigen Bildern, die Schärfe der Umrisslinien, die Möglichkeit, Textstellen aus empfangenen Dokumenten wieder herauskopieren zu können, ein empfangenes Dokument schnell an beliebig viele Personen weiterzuleiten, oder die Mühe, bei einem zig-seitigen Fax den Papiersalat beim Durchblättern in der richtigen Seitenreihenfolge zu halten...

Unangefochten hat sich heute weltweit das Portable Document Format (PDF) als das Standard-Format für digitale Dokumente schlechthin durchgesetzt.

PostScope PDF Dispatch Engine ist nun ein sogenannter PDF-Konverter, d.h. eine Software, die Dokumente jedes beliebigen Typs, z.B.

* MS-Office-Typen wie *.doc, *.ppt, *.xls

* Internet-Seiten wie *.htm und *.html

* Bilddateitypen wie *.tif, *.bmp, *.jpg

* usw, usw...

in PDF umwandelt.

Dazu müssen Sie nur das gewünschte Dokument (etwa ein MS Word *.doc) in der seinem Typ entsprechenden PC-Anwendung (in diesem Fall also MS Word) öffnen und formell auf dem Drucker "PostScope PDF Dispatch Engine" ausdrucken - denn PostScope ist ein sogenannter Virtueller Druckertreiber. Das bedeutet: Wenn Sie ein beliebiges Dokument auf PostScope ausdrucken, dann kommt dabei keine bedruckte Seite Papier heraus, sondern je nach Wahl entweder eine PDF-Datei oder PostScript-Datei, die Sie wahlweise auf Ihre Festplatte speichern und / oder direkt per eMail an den Adressaten schicken können.

Auf Wunsch versieht PostScope die so entstandenen Dokumente auch gleich mit Ihrem eigenen Logo als Stempel.
