Как это работает?
Очень просто! Обычные камеры позволяют показывать видео разрешением до 640x480 пикселей, однако для видеоконференций используется более низкое разрешение, порядка 320x200. Такая разница позволяет изменять положение суб-картинки обзора внутри оригинальной, большой картинки. Используя возможности масштабирования достигается возможность увеличения и уменьшения изображения (ZOOM), при котором качество теряется только после двухкратного увелчения изображения. При этом учитывая, что при пересылке видео используются методы сжатия которые ухудшают качество изображения, такой ZOOM выглядит достаточно приемлимо.
